FMM Retirement Facility in GMA, Cavite

St. Joseph Convent is a facility in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Cavite, for Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM) retired nuns.  It is an infirmary for nuns who need close monitoring, as they can no longer manage by themselves

Our class visits the nuns at every opportunity.

Letter from the FMM Sisters

December 2018

To our deal Stellans, SMC HS Batch 1969

We greet you on your Golden Jubilee as Stellan alumnae.  A number of us, Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, who have journeyed with you through your years at Stella Maris, treasure happy memories of your youth, enthusiasm, dynamism, uniqueness, and promise.  We congratulate you in keeping alive the Christian and Franciscan values inculcated in your Stellan education.  “Ad Veritatem Per Caritatem.”

In a special way, we thank you for your concern for our welfare as elderly and infirm sisters, taking the initiative to find a way to make smooth and safe for wheelchairs, pedestrians, and cars, our compound driveway.  Your group was instrumental in soliciting the help of REDYCON, owned by engineer Jesus Ignacio and his wife Wilma Ignacio (SMC HS ’69), which accomplished asphalting our road in record time (overnight!).

At last, we can take walks and stroll the grounds with our canes, walkers, or wheelchairs, without fear of stumbling or falling.  For years, we were mostly confined inside the house.  Now we can go out for fresh air, morning sun, enjoy the garden, marvel at God’s creation, colorful, alive, and changing before our eyes.  THANK YOU so very much, dear Stellans!  With gratitude to God for your generosity; we offer our prayers for you and your loved ones.  May the Lord bless you with Peace, Goodness and Joy this Christmas and throughout the New Year.
